Each band member brings a deep well of experience, with impressive credentials across both local & international stages. Collectively & individually, they have worked with iconic names such as Johnny Fourie, Hugh Masekela, Sibongile Khumalo, Judith Sephuma, Johnny Clegg, Gloria Bosman, Andy Narell, Bob Mintzer, Fabrizzio Savino, Keiko Matsui & Katherine Jenkins.
BISOUX has graced countless VIP events & high-profile concerts over the past six years. Their intuitive musical synergy is the result of long-standing collaborations, mutual respect & countless hours of joyful, creative exchange – evident in the natural ease & cohesion with which they perform together.
WENDY ALLEN TWYFORD fronts the outfit as the lead vocalist with her sultry honeyed tones, funky flair & improvisational zest … adding her unique spice to the mix with light Latin percussion. With over 2 decades of experience performing with several top South African jazz outfits, she is well known for her special sense of sass, swing & soul.
Highly acclaimed pianist & keyboardist DR. ROLAND MOSES brings a breath-taking depth of musicianship to the outfit with his lush layers of harmony & hauntingly beautiful melodies. His recent award-winning track AFRICAN SUN (Mzantsi Awards Best Jazz Song of 2022) is just one example of his evocative compositional voice. His musical direction & ingenious arranging skills are a cornerstone of the BISOUX sound.
Limpopo-born electric/double bassist and multi-instrumentalist GALLY NGOVENI consistently dishes up a generous dose of musical va va voom with his engaging & passionate performance delivery! His very compelling energy & rich musicality adds a unique African essence to the melting pot of Bisoux’s sound. A 2018 Emirates Pursuit of Jazz Competition winner, he was afforded the opportunity to perform his acclaimed original composition at the famous New York City Blue Note Jazz Club.
The legendary ROB WATSON – undoubtedly SA’s most sought after & prolific session drummer – further augments & perfectly completes the complement on kit with his edgy precision, exceptional rhythmic intuition & fiery delivery.
